  • Down

Well, I should be headed to sleep right now, but I just decided that after about 2 months now of hibernation from my Xanga, that I'd go ahead and post some type of update.

I was at work today when Eric Hillman, who's one of the Baseball Analysts and former Major League Pitcher told me that he read my blog and found some very insightful things on here, so I'm not sure what he read, but maybe some people enjoy it.

Since my last major post baseball season has started up and that usually keeps me pretty busy. Having my good buddy Chris from high school come out and visit was fun. We went to the NCAA tourney and just hung out a bunch. I can't really remember whether or not we made it up to the mountains, but all-in-all it was a good and eventful week. I took him over to the FSN studio one day and had him see stuff around there....which really isn't that impressive. haha. I probably started working more a week after Chris went on home. FSN has been a lot different this year. We've started up a new daily sports round-up show called FSN Live and I'm mostly one of the editors for that. Last year I did a lot more graphics, both in the live and post-production aspect, but this year I haven't really been given the opportunity to get back on and do that and it's been really frustrating. I've branched out more this year and have started doing more varying positions, but none of them are really what I want to be doing or what I am extremely good at and since I haven't been given the opportunity it has put me down and made me wonder how long that I will be able to stick around and be unhappy.

As many of you know, I worked for the Rockies last season from pretty much the time that I moved out here through the World Series. This year, since my job there is seasonal, I had to re-apply for the spot there. I got all of my stuff together, along with a decent amount of the graphics that I did and got my reel all done and submitted me information. Well, my buddy over there first called and told me that they had received it and that if I made it to the second round of interviews, they would call me in.....well, eventually I got a call that said they went a different direction and this was when I was still waiting to hear back from ESPN and so I was really counting on that then, but that didn't pull through either and so I've been kind of stuck in a rut where I am waiting for a nice opportunity to pop up and pick me up. I haven't been talking to God as much about the situation lately, which I know that he is going to be the power which makes everything all right, but I just don't really know what I should do.

I love it here in Denver, but I feel that I might need to start searching for more work outside of this market. I want to get something going that's more steady and better pay than around here. I've considered e-mailing and seeing if there are any features coming up back in DC that I could go back and work on. I've also thought about e-mailing a bunch of people that I've worked with in the past to see if they have any work that they could book me on. I've though about applying to some jobs in LA and maybe going ahead and reapplying to the one in Bristol with ESPN and contacting the guy that I met with there to see if he still wants more people, because that job I interview for before is still posted.

I get bored a lot during the day and just start thinking about all of this stuff. How I want something that can keep me busy and satisfied and most importantly, happy. There was one day where I went onto monster and applied to a bunch of different jobs here in Denver and got a call about this sales thing and so I went to the interview and everything and then made it to the second round of interviews and through that fine, but I ended up reminding myself how much that I hate sales stuff and so I didn't got on my first day of work and just blew it off. It was all commission anyways, so I didn't really feel bad. I just hope that I can get something going here soon, because I am starting to go a little crazy.

My dad is retiring this week and my parents are coming out to visit within two weeks after that, so I wish that I could get something going before then.
